His best bet is for the judiciary to drag it's feet until after the election. I don't think he has a prayer of winning on the merits of the appeal (with respect to his immunity claims).

No, but he still needs to put that money and the $83 million from the E. Jean Carroll case aside. There's a percentage added on top, so even if he appeals, he's going to have to come up with $500 million soon.
How good a credit risk is an ex-president facing possible jail time?
