At this point in 2011, Obama was lagging behind Romney and had a job approval rating of under 50%. While being mindful of the investor's caveat, this is nothing to get in a twist about.
If anyone is really concerned that Trump is unbeatable, the thing to do is to work at getting Democrats elected in the House and Senate.

The polls in the last election were quite flawed ... I suspect they are now also.
Supposedly polling is a science, ... I'm not so sure at this point, due to issues with "availability", in the sense of "how" the polls are contacting their
subjects. I never answer our phone unless I know who is calling, and most of the time, I'm not willing to be interrupted when I doing something.
I do think that the new Speaker is such an idiot, that it may play to the Dems favor.
Meanwhile, we live in interesting times.
On the rare occasion I accidentally pick up on a pollster, I hang up. I'm simply not interested.

I would love to know what % of the population that is.
It's doubtful, IMO, that polls show a true cross section of the population.
It shows a cross section of those with an axe to grind.

This is why we have a private vote. Just because you vote for an unpopular candidate (within your social circle), doesn't mean you have to claim it.

Watch it, pally. Biden is the absolute best president you’ve had in that office since Obama.

I am considering this the new orange turd thread, because I hope we never have to necro the original.
Quote:Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) filed a judicial ethics complaint against the New York judge overseeing former President Trump’s civil fraud trial Friday, claiming the judge has shown “inappropriate bias and judicial intemperance” toward the former president and calling on him to resign.

Trump Takes Veterans Day Speech in a Very Different Direction
NY Times
Quote:Former President Donald J. Trump, on a day set aside to celebrate those who have defended the United States in uniform, promised to honor veterans in part by assailing what he portrayed as America’s greatest foe: the political left.
Using incendiary and dehumanizing language to refer to his opponents, Mr. Trump vowed to “root out” what he called “the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country.”

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
