US Strikes on Iran (Operation Epic Fury)

France and the US are supporting the LAF, and the lebanese people aren't asking for israeli bombs.

I’m not saying they want İsraeli Bombs. İsrael too is a very destabilizing factor in the whole region at this point. Right now they are putting pressure on the LAF to eliminate Hezbollah’s military factions. But the Lebanese army is very weak. There were many armed groups in Lebanon. All of them laid down their weapons. To the exception of Hezbollah. And Hezbollah answers directly to Teheran. Other than the Huttis and Hamas the have Shiite political parties in Iraq. They cannot control Syria anymore because Bashar Al-Assad is gone. But you have and octopus-like structure in all the Middle East. So how are countries like Saudi Arabia supposed to deal with that on their own?

Back to Lebanon: These guys have a more or less functional state apparatus. It’s very corrupt, it’s almost a Haiti-like failed state. But all of it needs rebuilding. And an efficient military force is necessary too.

Besides: Israel’s army is overstretched too. Being a victim of their own overconfidence I don’t think they know what they are doing either Sad

RE: US Strikes on Iran (Operation Epic Fury)
France is not willing to make any move if there is no peace treaty first. But the UK is making moves to reopen the straits to trading ships and is openly calling the IRI for its illegal actions in the straits:

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/uk-g...04455.html

Everyone seems to be very pessimistic about the current situation but there are several points that I would like to discuss:

1) It’s too late to go back to before the 26th of February. If the US withdraws now it leaves it regional allies to the mercy of an even more radicalized Iran who now believe they can tax and control the flow of ships in the straits of Hormuz. So I think we are in a “You have to believe in it” phase of this conflict.

2) It seems like D. Trump does not have a plan (or he is simply not disclosing it). But Israel is being very clear about its objectives. Israel has a limited population and it cannot maintain military presence in 5 different fronts forever. They need to go for the head of the octopus and that is the regime of the Ayatollahs. The IRI is an existential threat to the state of Israel, full stop.

3) Everything is unfolding exactly as G.W. Bush’s campaign in Iraq. First they destroy everything through airpower. Then they deploy ground troops who will face limited resistance only. And I doubt that there will be even that much resistance in Iran because ordinary Iranians all hate this regime.

/ But I still believe that civilian targets must be spared and the whole country must not be bombed back to the Stone Age.

In the Iraq war G.W. Bush had also said that “things would look better once everything is over”. I think the same works here.

I think that what’s happening here is what President Dwight Eisenhower described as “The American mind at its best is both Republican and Democrat”.

So D. Trump is definitely not the best guy for this or any other issue. But he is being a doer. I’m not trying to contradict anti-war people in this forum. But I see how the whole things unfolds (yes) in the coming months.

Trump could simply strike a deal with the Mullahs as he did with the Taliban in Afghanistan and leave them with the control of the Strait of Hormuz and then pull out of NATO (none of these are things I wouldn’t expect from this guy). But I think this is going to be Iraq 2.0. And this truly happens to be the only sustainable path with a regime that has murdered 9000 (confirmed) death and up to 30,000 estimated deaths in just 2 days in January.

The "You have to be even more naive and gormless" phase of this conflict. Awesome.

Quote:2) It seems like D. Trump does not have a plan (or he is simply not disclosing it).

What was the first hint?

Quote:But Israel is being very clear about its objectives. Israel has a limited population and it cannot maintain military presence in 5 different fronts forever. They need to go for the head of the octopus and that is the regime of the Ayatollahs.

Following Israel's plan is what got Trump fucked in the first place. They don't have any more of a plan than Trump did.

Quote:The IRI is an existential threat to the state of Israel, full stop.

Jingo for, "We're justified in shooting first."

Quote:3) Everything is unfolding exactly as G.W. Bush’s campaign in Iraq.

You say this like it's a good thing. Dear gods you're brainless. Only an imbecile would use Iraq as a military strategy outside the context of a book titled something like 'History's Greatest Military Failures'.

Quote:Then they deploy ground troops who will face limited resistance only.

Care to place bets on that? Kharg Island is about to become the sort of bloody mess that accomplishes nothing. These troops that Trump told everybody weren't going to be deployed are about to end up getting killed a lot for no good reason.

Quote:In the Iraq war G.W. Bush had also said that “things would look better once everything is over”. I think the same works here.

That we have another fine example of a politician mouthing platitudes while getting people on both sides senselessly killed?

Quote:But I think this is going to be Iraq 2.0.

Iraq 1.0 was a complete cluster fuck based on a lie, and now you want somebody who is utterly incompetent to follow that blueprint and send people to their deaths? And you think that's a good thing. Get a clue. Then get another one so that it doesn't die of loneliness.

They don't just believe it Leo, they're doing it...and The Mad King either can't or won't help.  I like both. He can't help, and wouldn't if he could. He's telling everyone to go in an take the oil "like they're supposed to", fucking tool that he is. James Mattis, former secdef of the us, tried to explain this iran business to the idiots ruling our country once before, 8 years ago.  The enemy gets a vote.

And now Hegseth has fired the top-ranking general. Sounds like somebody told him what storming the beaches on Kharg Island was going to cost them.

... and a major who's never commanded more than a battalion, and never had to shape grand strategy, somehow knows more. This is the Peter Principle writ large, only about eight levels above his own competence.

When was the last time Trump had a plan.....didnt claim to have one, but definitely had one, based on the evidence available?

In contrast to Trump, Bismarck had a plan, Bismarck always had a plan

So is any other rambling idiot or criminal acting out on his idiocies or criminal ideas. Your point is?

Hes doing raping women and children
Hes doing dividing his own people
Hes doing putting incompetent and corrupt idiots into the highest government positions
Hes doing insurrection
But hey, at least hes doing something, right?
