What does God deserve?
#11
RE: What does God deserve?
Ace, I will tell you my reasons. Like I said before I suffer from schizophrenia and anxiety and at times when unwell I have had dreams. In those dreams I have been tormented by bad people that I interpret as evil spirits. Now, the presence of evil that I felt made me believe in evil spiritual beings.

As far as God is concerned when I would be sick and I mean really unwell I have felt the presence of somethin.g great and pure and comforting and I interpreted that as God.

Also my illness when unwell seems reall(the delusions) even when well in a
sense that I believe that some sort of a Devil/devils have their hand in it.

As far as rejecting the revealed religion well that is after reading the books. Like all the contradictions cruelties, etc.

They are preaty much the main reasons after ofcourse the fact that someone gives you an idea about it.

Thanks

If the xtian/jewish/muslim god did exist, I'd have absolutely no problem siding with the supposed 'devil'. I can honestly see why 'satan' would go against the god of these faiths, and I would love to fucking join him.

God's a frickin' prick.

I believe I understand. Not completely though. I'm trying to comprehend these feelings and dreams you experience. It's not something I'm personally familiar with. So I'll try extra hard to look into and answer as best I can.
Based on what you've told me, it does seem that you are interpreting overwhelming emotions, some very frightening and some comforting, and you see them as spirits. It is a delusion but it's one I can understand. I think it's through understanding and control of these experiences that would allow you to see it for what it really is.

Theists used to tell me about feeling god's presence when I was a young lad. I knew what they were talking about, because I could feel it too, but I knew what it was. I was able to switch it on and off at will. It's because those feelings were created by my mind, my imagination. I can at will feel it now. Just as I can feel the presence of Santa losing his footing on the roof.
Knowing what causes it and where, is merely the first step. Every feeling is chemical based. And we are just biological specks with the ability of reason and imagination trying to make sense of it's environment with a very pattern seeking mind.

I saw the fallacies of religion and claims of god's existence during my high school days. I never could buy the whole god thing.

Still trying to grasp your beliefs and experience. New territory for me. Big Grin

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

God's a frickin' prick.

I don't know if I shared this before but in my D&D world, I modeled one of the two primary creator deities after the god of the Bible. The story is that they became corrupted and the rebellious servants were the "good guys".

If God is omniscient and omnipotent, then He cannot do something to punish Himself since that is against His own nature (i.e. because He does not feel any pain). So, this is an example of a "loaded question" (similar to: Can God make a stone so heavy that he can't lift it?).

Well, now you could say, "Why did God make atheists in the world and then send them to Hell (and torture them for eternity) just for not believing?" That, I cannot answer because I don't know whether or not He has already pre-determined our beliefs when creating us. One possible answer is that God's sense of self-worth is much greater than the love for His creations, and therefore, He does not feel sorrow for those who are being punished for their disbelief in Him. This is morally right for Him according to His own moral standards (whether we like it or not).

@ theOP

So... If God created people with the ability to choose life or not, because there can't be love without choice. A loving God is responsible for the choice to hate.

If God didn't create the capacity for love, if people were loveless, then God couldn't be loving.

Scientists have suggested that natural disasters: the result of tectonic activity, is what provides the foundation to life. So without them we wouldn't exist.

Just is what the Xtain God is. An unjust God isn't the Xtian God.

A better answer is that there is no fucking god and some people are merely smarter than others. Smart enough to catch on, anyway.

Christ signed all believers contracts with His own blood.

God's a frickin' prick.

You have joined him and will pay the price unless... well you know, want preach.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Well then fuck god. I'd sell my soul to Satan if god existed and that was his nature.
