Scientists continue to consider science and spirituality to be complementary, not contradictory. Neuroscientists keep learning more about how the brain functions during reported spiritual experiences.
Physical and biological scientists avoid supernatural explanations to describe reality or anicent spitituality, I just don’t understand it myself. Although I see atheist here spend a lot of time talking about Religion, I’m here for a short time not a long time.
Spirituality is a development of inner peace or the foundations of happiness, then spiritual practice of some kind is essential for personal well being. My view is that spirit is a prime element of reality and very much enjoy exploring the greatest unknowns.

Castle, google Cavarka or Thales. People rejected the notion of the supernatural and god(s) (redundant I know, but some people separate these two) before Darwin was a twinkle in his parents eyes. In fact, atheism predates christianity and islam. It most definitely predates our current crop of "new age" bullshit. Those are just the first two on record, but you best believe that some uncle OG way back in the paleolithic preferred to hunt his food rather than pray for it. Doubt isn't a recently evolved trait.
Amusingly, most of the classic arguments against the worlds current religions predate those religions themselves and were formulated to discredit a previous crop of religions. Evidentiary arguments are relatively new, and this is mostly due to our inability to actually sort this stuff prior to working out such a wonderful method of investigating the world around us. If it's enlightenment you're after, you have to do the work. You wont find it by inventing faeries (of any kind) to fill the air around you.

My road record and mastering what I love to do, speak for its self as far as enlightenment. As for those delightful fairies, why would I worship them, when you got beautiful women and then got sun, earth, air to create high energy with?
