Cinjin I have to disagree slightly with this:

Only because of CERN is proof of European cooperation at it's finest.

But I'll give a bit because NASA does military, and everyone gets paranoid on who knows what in the military.

I've been thinking of the modus operandi why Obama would do such a thing. Here is the best rationale I can come up with:

One of the routine pork-barrel projects that Red states are insistent on having is the so-called rocket to nowhere (Constellation). Perhaps Obama, by destroying the rest of NASA, is hoping to drive all the Blue and other Red states against the likes of Utah, Florida, Alabama and Texas (http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/opin...et-nowhere).

Unfortunately, I've little reason to believe, in theory, in Obama's power play, considering that to do such a power play, you need an opponent who isn't crazy.

And Congress and the Senate have proven to be nothing but crazy. The fact that they were willing to cause a financial meltdown on the world stage with their budget deadlock is nothing short of staggering. It is also nothing but insane.

The man can't even stand up for his own power base, let alone his own convictions. This is just another compromise in a long litany of compromises.

Obama sells the US further down the river to the very people who hate his guts.

So pardon me if I possess a less than stellar view of his ability to pull anything off.
