True dat, but you need to compromise in politics, especially in your's as the majority in the senate are tiny, thus meaning you have to sway things a bit to get more on board as obviously not all democrat senators will agree. if he had 70/30 democrats, there surely would not be a problem. But there isn't, so it is.

Pretending that we have the money for this program is equivalent in it's irresponsibility as it would be to send our country into a country to war over WMD's that don't exist. It sucks that this is happening, yes, but we have a budget crisis in this country (I wont mention why), and something has to be cut.
It doesn't mean we can't pick up where we left off when we are in a more financially stable position, or that this program can't be privately funded. Wanna blame someone? Fine. You're blaming the wrong person. Why don't you blame the person who got us into this mess, or maybe the rich assholes who don't want to pay their fucking taxes. PS- I'm not a huge Obama fan for several reasons. I wouldn't defend him no matter what. I just think blaming him specifically for this in particular is a misplacement of blame altogether. 42
