One person, named "Stephanie" talked to the guy and talked about how she was molested by her Mormon bishop at the age of five.
Crook's response: "what did you do to invite it? Are you so arrogant to think that you would be approached unprovoked? Get over yourself."

Being strong isn't about an image but a quality one posseses. By speaking about it you have shown toughness and the will to educate others with a story most people wouldn't have the strength to share. In other words, you have shown you still kick ass  .
While I do feel apathy is a good response to many things in life, trauma such as this is not one of them. Yours is a natural reaction, becasue as I'm sure it pains you to realize it, you're a human being. We won't hold it against you  .

Every single woman, man and child on the planet is a potential rape victim. While I strongly advocate carrying something to protect yourself, it just isn't feasible. I carried pepper spray with me when I drove across the country, but that is about it. I just try to avoid bad situations, such as sketchy parties and alleys late at night. Of course, there is still my home, which a skilled robber could enter regardless of the locks on my doors, but I have to take that risk. We all do.

VlB, your's is a burden much too large for any one person to support alone. Please take my advice and go to a rape/abuse support group. It is not a weakness to seek help. Do something good for yourself and actively try to heal the wounds that so many have put on you. You are too good of a person to be walking around hurting like this. You deserve better than this, seek help.
I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise

I've discovered a latent wealth of creativity within me now that I'm away from the worst of them. Many of those 'wounds' are scars. Scars don't heal.

I think that's a bullshit video. The guy doesn't speak for all Muslims and he quoted hadiths (or speeches of Muhammad that were collected and written down 200 years after his death) that doesn't specifically say that raping is OK. That's his own interpretation and I don't agree with it. Why? Because I'm very sure that rape is a crime and a sin in Islam. The religion has a strict rule against rape and the punishment for such behavior can range from 100 lashes (or X number of lashes) as a minimum punishment to even a death sentence.
Also, there are many verses in the Quran which emphasize the importance of treating one's wife with respect and to be patient with them. Example: "O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should you treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of the dowry you have given them - except when they have become guilty of open lewdness. On the contrary, live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If you take a dislike to them, it may be that you dislike something and God will bring about through it a great deal of good." [Surah 4:19]
