Excellent point.  It's more difficult to kill a lot of people if they are all in a bunch because the bodies block the bullets.  The best option is to charge the shooter even though you might get killed doing it but you're being shot at anyway.  It would distract him long enough for other people to swarm him.   Once you start running away you're more likely to get killed because the shooter can focus on you as a specific target.  

The hilarious thing is that the killer had been identified as a nut several years ago.  The NSA is supposed to be spying on everybody and the guy was yakking with known terrorists on the other side of the world.  Maybe instead of banning guns it's time to fire the dummies at the NSA for their inefficiency.

Some muslims like the idea of becoming martyrs because it's like winning the cosmic lottery.  They get to intercede for 70 family members to get them into paradise.  That's why so few muslims seldom condemn such acts of terrorism.  They get into paradise because some nut died killing a lot of people and put in a good word for them with Allah.  It's a self-reinforcing death cult. 

Now as usual all of the nervous Nellies want to ban guns.  It's easier to ban ammo.  Put the commercial ammo makers out of business and regulate ammo for use by the military and the thug cops.  People would still have their guns and once their ammo is used up their guns are nothing more than clubs.

That's not so shocking. How many times has it come out, after the fact, that the Islamist was already known to the intelligence agencies and the police? Happens all the time, and it still frustrates me whenever I hear it, because it means many of these attacks could easily have been prevented.

I do not understand why a civilized country would allow it's citizens to own firearms, it seems to me that it is just asking for trouble and reading about a mass killing every few months proves it. America is too shit scared to dump the guns, a nation of cowards.

There are an estimated 300 or so million firearms in the public sphere, many (most?) purchased legally.  Furthermore, we have Constitutional protections against illegal search and seizure in addition to the current established right to bear arms.  Banning guns and taking them from the people simply won't happen.  Not without bloodshed, anyway.
