..and that pisses me off. Im not asking America to keep going left and left and left. Im just asking them to be a bit left from center because it is either we are all in this together, or it is every man for himself.
I have no problem with "God Bless America" as long as it doesnt mean "..and God damn everyone else"
That sort of thing.

What do you expect from a country where a similar percentage believe the earth is less than 10,000 years old.

Our current political climate here in the U.S. makes me sad to be an American. We are predominately a country of idiots run by morons. Moderate Republicans(what few there are) must be embarrassed to be politically associated with the right-wing fucktards.
BTW: the day Obama showed his long-form birth certifcate several Fox News anchors anchors proclaimed, "See! We told you he was an American citizen! We were right all along."
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Personally, my wish is that the democrats be a "hardline moderate" party, as in a party that draws the line and insists on moderate policies. As opposed to the milquetoast moderates we have now.

Yes, why can't we have a three-party system like Britain has? And why can't those three parties be distinguishable from each other, unlike in Britain?
