It's Unconstitutional for the Police to Kill People
September 25, 2016 at 1:25 pm
Nobody seems to realize that when the police shoot a person, the police is acting as judge, jury and executioner, depriving the person of life without due process of law.
Due process of law is supposed to consist of a trial and conviction by jury.
The police know they can’t charge a person with having a gun in a state where it’s legal to carry a gun. By killing the person they are not doing their job of enforcing the law. They are deciding that the law will not suffice.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

They don't claim to execute people in the name of the law. The claim is self defence. That's if there is a claim, some officers just say they don't know why they did it and so on, I mean there's lots of situations but I don't think many claim to be doing it in the name of the law as part of an execution.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

Sorry Rhonda, I disagree.

They may be agents of the state, but that doesn't mean that in these shootings they are necessarily taking the position you ascribe. I think it's much more a matter of poor training and nerves, coupled with the occasional sadistic/authoritarian cop, rather than punishing someone for owning a gun.

No, it doesn't go down on record as an official execution. But I'm speaking de facto. that's the role they play when they kill people.

You think? There should be a law against it at the very least. Oh, and very strict gun control enforced by jack booted government agents who sweep through everybody's home cleaning out all their guns.

In Charlotte, man gets out of his car, has his hands at his side, walks backwards away from his car and is blown away in seconds.
In Tulsa, a man with his hands in the air is murdered by the cops.
In San Francisco a man with an actual gun....

Quote:SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) --
San Francisco police have reported the gunman involved in an hours-long standoff in the Civic Center Plaza has surrendered to police.
The incident was first reported by San Francisco Fire Department officials on Twitter around 12:25 p.m.
Police and fire officials initially evacuated the plaza and asked people to avoid the area. Police say the armed man called police just before noon and was threatening to use it.
Now...whatever could the difference be?
Oh, yeah.... white guys with actual guns are "different."

No, you weren't. You were ascribing intent to them:

And I doubt this, in the vast majority of cases.

These cops have to be really poorly trained nine pound weaklings to have to defend themselves against little kids, mentally ill people, and people with their hands raised.
I think the solution is to start recruiting police from inside the community. Such cops will know the people and care about them. We need t demilitarize the police.

Keith Scott was murdered by a black cop. The problem is not black v white but rather black v blue. The cop mentality is the problem.
