Um, the "strategists" did an autopsy in the aftermath of the Romney fiasco and said all sorts of things about being more inclusive to women and minorities. The primaries showed what the nut jobs who vote in republicunt primaries thought of that. That's why a shitstorm like Drumpf got the nomination. There is a total disconnect between the so-called brains of the GOP and its remaining core voters. I expect the same this time around.
To be fair, those same strategists might have thought that they -were- being more inclusive to women and minorities.

They would have to 'destroy the village to save it' and I doubt the GOP leadership has the balls to do what is necessary. Their base consists of many of the most irrational and reactionary people in the country.
