She most certainly was. Our personalities never matched. She was Filex and I was Oscar, but when push came to shove, she always had my back.

And again, I cannot stress this enough, in her last days, she showed so much concern for me even in her decline every day she tried to make me smile.

I can also tell you that if you had met her, and all 3 of us hung out together, she'd side with you to gang up and tease me. But she did that with all my friends and my X too. I miss that so much too.

NFL preseason starts with the Hall Of Fame Game starting right now. If my Mom were still here I would be calling her to let her know the game was on. Boy do I miss doing that.

 This thread is something I post in to keep myself sane. Saturday will be her first birthday she wont be here. Consider it a public journal. It helps me, but for anyone who has lost a close friend or family member, I am sure they can identify too. This is my therapy. 

I'll be fine long term. It is nothing you get used to, but merely cope with. Talking about it is my way of coping.

Then by all means keep going.

First televised Preseason game for the Redskins out of market here in NC, would have called my mom a half hour ago to remind her.

I am so sorry to hear this. I really can't imagine what it's like to lose a loved one, or even a parent. I love my parents and I really can't imagine a world without them. Are you dealing with it okay?

Death happens to everyone eventually it just sucks afterwards when you cant share the things you used to share. You will go through it too at some point with someone you know. The biggest part of coping is to feel the pain, but remember the good times.

I know it is just preseason Mom, but we won.
