I would expect a holy book from god not to be such blatantly obvious shit, yeah.
Meanwhile, your god couldn't accomplish his purpose without malaria. Some god.
If there was a God, do you think by your attitude you would find it?
If there was a holy book, do you think by your attitude you can recognize that it is from God?
Depends on the god. A real, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, omnibenevolent should be glaringly obvious to anyone. A trickster god, that wants us to guess at its nature and reality, would play games like hiding behind contradictory texts and prophets.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

If there was a god, my attitude wouldn't affect it a single iota, Mr Tone Police. If there was a magic book it's magical qualities would be indisputable. Do you understand how silly that sounds?
Do you think you'll ever find oxygen with that attitude? How would you recognize oxygen with that attitude?
I think you should consider that the problem is not that there is no book or path or clear proofs regarding the path or that God didn't show the way to knowing him nor that you lack the means to recognize him, but it is simply that: an attitude problem on your part.
I am not telling you to accept that, just consider it a possibility...

Yes, but you are still choosing to live despite the good AND bad that comes with it, right? Do you wish you had never been conceived?
To be fair, I never asked to be born and I feel a bit disrespected my opinion on the matter was never taken into consideration.

You'll have to justify that "just" for us to be able to argue anything based on a difference in the meaning we attach to the words. You're devaluing "subjective", a subjective act. If you can't justify that, our disagreement resides in a failure to communicate.

So you hate tricks and riddles, too bad, the world is full of them, maybe look for a book from God to help you solve them and guides to point you to those solutions.....

Even if a million people liked a movie but you watched it with the wrong attitude or with a obvious prejudice you're not going to like it. Everything is like that, advances in ai, medicine, technology, everything has a downside. Attitude definitely does matter.

You told me to consider that maybe god couldn't accomplish his purpose without malaria, and that it would all be #worthit, too...and then got pissy about -my- attitude..........for having repeated what you asked me to consider.
Consider it as a possibility that you don't believe the shit you say anymore than I do.
When are we going to get around to providing what the thread title advertised?

For it to be objectively wrong you would first have to define what 'wrong' actually is to the point of being able to physically measure it.
You won't be able to come up with such a definition that does not fail in other situations.

At the same time though, without God, you cant really make the case for objective morality... So you have to concede that raping, torturing, and killing a 4 year old is only "wrong" as a matter of personal opinion, like thinking the best color is pink.
And why is it such a problem to accept that raping, torturing and killing a 4 year old is "wrong" as a matter of personal opinion? Surely the only reason is because you have such strong opinions against such acts because of your biologically evolved instincts.
Let me show you pictures of evil using your definition (don't worry, they aren't disturbing):
And why?
Animals Can Be Giant Jerks
Are you really comparing child rape to animal behavior?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

It is only a problem for you, not us. Yeah I know full well how to become convinced that god exists and to pick a favorite book to back me up. I just have no desire to do that. I prefer to believe those things I find reason to think are true. You prefer to use reason to support those things you wish were true.
My disbelief is a problem for you because you want to live in a world in which everyone agrees the emperor is wearing the most splendid of clothing. But, I'm telling you, the guy is naked.

Yes, your parents disrespected you by having sex and then not having aborted you. What an odd thing to say...
