Too many near death experiences

3:29 but anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. This is a sin with eternal consequences.

How many perfectly decent Christians have lived their lives and have gone to their graves in abject horror of perhaps, they at one time in the past, cussed out the holy ghost?

Order through fear? You are correct for once. For more than a thousand years Europe was hobbled by the pox that is Christianity. Science stopped under the church. The wheel, the rack and the pear took care of that. Not one rational though dare express its name. We would have internet connections five hundred years ago if not for the catholic church. Christianity is without question the biggest disaster in human history, and that it is still prevalent in the 21st century is a truly terrifying though.
With regard to the evolution debate: Homo sapiens are about to fail, we are not fit for the world we inhabit.

Quote:1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Two billion of us believe this. Nah fuckit. Fire the nukes and be done with it. Let those smug bastard dolphins have a go.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

CL, I genuinely love that you have a sense of humor about your religion, and you don't take yourself too seriously.  Rare qualities around here from the Theist camp.  You rock. ❤️

The only problem I have with some of her humorous posts, is that she needs to add a smiley.

We get way too many theists here, that are serious when they post something like CL did. She needs to find a way to show she is not one of the more wacky theists. Just posting something outrageous, is not enough. We get plenty of that from theists not joking around.

But yeah, I agree, funny stuff, CL!

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

This only show how ignorant you and those who back you up are.  Think

Consciousness that has separated from the brain doesn't need the physical senses to perceive.
Atheism disease is that it keep on relay to whatever is physical.
All the rest doesn't exist. Popcorn  Bong  Popcorn
Consciousness is not something physical but for most atheists it is and this make everything so difficult to understand.  Wacky

Somebody hasn't tried a high dose of LSD or DMT. Hallucinations can be INCREDIBLY rich, vivid, and complex and drastically change people. NDEs are no different.

Might be time to fire up the magic bus and pay someone a visit?  Call it an intervention.

I don't believe for one fucking instant that they actually saw a real afterlife, though.

I'd be willing to bet that whatever slim portion of nde stories are credible reports of an actual experience still contain significant exaggeration and, shall we say "mis-remembered" narrative arcs.

Not to mention that confabulation is how the brain remembers.  We assemble parts and declare the victor based on the one that feels right.  Given a xtian background and enough youtube, guess which will be declared the memory of the actual NDE (not dead experience).

Strange, makes you wonder why consciousness needs the physical senses to perceive when it's in the brain.  If we have spirit eyes, aren't eyeballs a bit redundant?  To hell with spirit eyes though, all I wanna know is whether or not I have a spirit peen and can spirit-gasm..because if not, fuck that noise.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Atheism disease is that it regard the body as the ultimate in evolution.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LAUGHABLE considering that in reality the body is a slavery.
We are stuck inside this body.
As a vehicle is not the driver also the body is not us.
Smart people however realize this realty so they try their very best to get out this slavery and be free ASAP.

Atheists and people who don't care instead build up the canary syndrome and don't bother anymore whether they live in a cage or not.  Lightbulb
