And yes, I was birthed from religious parents, but I would still be born even if they were atheists. I was indoctrinated with religoin and I regret it.

If they were atheist they may have never met and you wouldn't have even been a thought, let lone a person. I can believe you believe you were indoctrinated in religion and it may be so, what you were not taught is Christianity and son there is a huge difference. Parents have the right to teach their children what they believe is best for them and i do not agree with what many children are taught but I do not condemn the parents for their decision. The results will be the results and the parents will have to live with the results they do not like as well as the results they like. Being a parent is the biggest job on the planet and the most important because it shapes the future of humanity. If you do not improve in your understanding of people please do not be a parent.

Astoundingly I'm in complete agreement with you for once.

I will only say that there are parents who will take their doctrine to the extreme and end up harming the child.

Agreed parents on all sides hurt their children because of their ignorance.

I do hope you realize how shitty it would sound for a theist to express dismay at an atheist couple being pregnant on the ground that they'd raise an atheist, hell bound baby. (i don't believe that btw). The man's wife is pregnant. Be happy for them and assume they'll be good parents. Hopefully with age you'll learn to have more tolerant, less bigoted views towards those who think differently from yourself.

Not agreeing with someone doesn't mean you don't tolerate them. I didn't say theist parents are horrible, my parents are theists and they're loving. I said I don't agree with the indoctrination part, not that theist parents are bad on every single level.
Also, An atheist doesn't necessary need to indoctrinate their kids to be atheists, because we are all born without a religion.

You were obviously perturbed enough by your Christian teacher having a baby to have started a thread to bitch about it. Perhaps you should be more concerned for all the babies who will be born into broken homes, poverty, abuse, and drug addiction. At least this guy is married to the woman and has a stable job. No need to be dismayed by this pregnancy just because of the parents religious views. It would be like me sarcastically saying "Well hooray, these atheist people I know will be making another atheist..."

There's a word for that bull shit, and it's called bigotry.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

That's right let children make all their own decisions without the benefit of the wisdom the older generation can pass down. Let them learn all the things people in the past have already experienced. Send the children into a world where they must relearn what has already been learned. You have no right telling parents what they teach their children and from what I see from atheist they do all they can to indoctrinate children into believing there is no God and claim to them they have proof there is no God. Teaching through lying is indoctrination.

Just because I made a thread about it it doesn't mean that I despise it beyond all limit. I'm not against them having kids, I'm against the indoctrination of children. Moderate religious indoctrination is better than being born in broken homes, povery and drug addiction, fundamentalist indoctrination not so much.
Yes I was sarcastic, so what? I used sarcasm to express my disagreement with this particular opinion, not with every single trait they have.
The definition of a bigot is a person who is intolerant towards those holding different opinions. I said that I don't agree with a certain opinion, not that the persons who have them are bad on every single level or that they shouldn't have the right to have the said opinion.
The only real biggot here is you. You are calling me a biggot for having a different opinion than you. You don't tolerate me for disagreeing with you. I think you can't find any better arguments, therefore you're attaking the person rather than the opinion itself. You're frustrated, you hate hearing arguments against you're doctrine, you're scared atheists might be right and/or become the majority. You're trying to convince people to follow your religion because of that, why else would you make an account on an atheist forum?

Ancient desert rantings by some lunatics is not wisdom or knowledge and teaching mysticism to kids as "facts" is shutting them down to ask questions and not to be curious about the world around them.

Yes they can tell parents but they can't order them, unlike Christians that order parents not to use contraception. Also atheists are 100% for telling kids that there are people that believe in mythological creatures and letting them decide what to believe. Religious people are the ones that force children to believe in god by scaring the shit out of them like the practice that continues in many religious families and churches today and that is telling children when the curtains move at night, it is the devil trying to get in their room and they need to pray to god to keep him away. Or completely ostracizing them from the family if they don't believe in their god.
Atheists wait until kids are experienced adults that have learned how to think critically to tell them about how universe is governed by the Trimurti of Brahma and see if they'll believe it or brush it away.

Parents are going to pass on to their children their own values and beliefs. And sometimes those values and beliefs will be different from your own. Deal with it. As long as there is no abuse going on in the process, it's really none of your concern or judgement. But maybe you'll loosen up a bit when you mature.

So I shouldn't have the right to express my opinion if I disagree with their values? I'm not forcing them to believe what I believe, I didn't even tell them what I think. I made a post which NOBODY is forced to read.
You say that it's not my concern what parents teach their children, then why is it your concern to teach me what you think?
You're alot like those SJW's, but with religion instead of political correctness. You're looking to be offended, you like playing the victim role because you don't have any better arguments. If someone has the same opinion as you, you'll call them victims too.
I will never loose up when I mature, no if it means to become an overly sensitive, bigotet, arrogant hypocrite who follows the herd just like sheep. Someone like you.
