I'm "left" simply by virtue of the U.S.'s utterly skewed understanding of what Left and Right actually mean. In any country not hamstrung by our laughably narrow bandwidth of politically acceptable options, I would be considered center-right, with a libertarian's attitude on most social issues. And my attitude didn't form "all of a sudden". 

Negotiate, by all means! But walk away with something in exchange for what you're willing to foreswear. North Korea obviously got a couple of things they wanted. What exactly did we get out of this meeting, other than the same meaningless assurances we've received in the past?

Kim gets trump to undertake to reduce military presence in Korea.
1.   Joint military exercise with ally undertaken every year since 1953 stops immediately.
2.   Promises of reduction of American forces in Asia in general

Btw, Kim is a swell guy who loves his people and rewards them with labor camps and execution by shooting with antiaircraft gun, and he is trust worthy as demonstrated by sending midget submarine to torpedo South Korean warship in South Korean territorial water and infiltrated armed commandos into South Korea.

Mussolini’s Italy actually required the Greeks to fight to before consenting to be pushed out of Greece.

My opinion, is that a deescalation of military tension is in both country's interests, and the interests of future diplomacy.  And it comes at no cost to the US.  Those seem like the best concessions to give, no?

It's not like the US can't still destroy NK if that action was called for.  It's purely about posture.

There is a difference between dislocation and leaving the door wide open to a psychopath  on nothing but good faith .

There was never any risk of nuclear war with North Korea except through reckless American action of a type typical of trump and advocated by John Bolton to make the Kim regime feel immediate existential threat.

To avoid nuclear war he didn’t need to give away anything, except reigning in his Twitter storms and read diplomatically written scripts prepared for him by adults.
