And how do you think his having antagonized our military would save us?

To be blunt, do you think the military has the moral courage, or even clarity, to prevent his seizing power?   The military will use “it’s not our role under the constitution to......” to let democracy die.

No, he probably already pulled off the coup.  Republicans will defend his coup with far more Unity, determination, vigor and ruthlessness than opponents of the coup will resist it.   The republicans corralled a mob into an army.    Their opponents thinks it is a point of principle to remain a mob.  

Other country often needs more ruthless, cunning, Diligent, perserverent Usurpers to topple even a fragile  democracy amidst a short a sketchy history of participative government to Establish or reestablish a dictatorship.    

The country that serenades itself with lullabies about “land of the free and home of the brave” only needs Fox News and trump.

We’ve become a country where the dominant political fractions mistake chest thumping for courage, sadism for morality, indecision for unity, ruthless selfishness for freedom, Irresponsibility for inalienable right, and buck passing for Moral high ground.

So, by this point, Trump is openly advocating a plan to throw out votes and announcing his intention to reject the results of the election.

It’s becoming legitimately disturbing that I’m starting to consider this the second-best option for the world in November:

I think both Trump and Biden will refuse to concede for a little while, but eventually will. Not long ago, Hillary Clinton said that she regrets that she conceded and said that under no circumstances should Biden concede, no matter what the results say. I think Trump is going to win anyways though, and talk of a coup is pretty far fetched. Trump just doesn't want to admit that there's a possibility he loses because he thinks that will make him look weak.

He knows that he'll lose, again. The plan described is in direct response to losing the vote.

They're ratfucking the ballot, and when they still lose the ratfucked ballot, they'll suggest getting rid of the ballots entirely in favor of chosen electors. Whether they end up grabbing their balls on the day and following through is immaterial. They released that info, they floated that bubble.

Then I look forward to footage of him being dragged out of the Oval Office by his puzzling and complicated hair.

I don’t think this is all that much to worry about. After all, the Legislative branch is there to act as a bulwark against Executive tyranny, right? The collective voice of Republicans in both houses of Congress has been absolutely deafening in denouncing Trump’s clear intention to stay in power even if he loses the election. They know their own minds and would never be lapdogs for the president. Rest easy.
