Is it possible the gaps in the MythBusters episode were due to the liquid's pump? Small pumps often have intermittent spurts of pressure, and if not regulated, result in a discontinuous stream of droplets. Continuous liquid pressure from the muscles around the bladder would not display such a phenomenon.

So am I. Had I been the person in charge of the episode where they tried to set a ship on fire with reflective devices, it would have been ignited. I've seen many things that they have done wrong, but can't be asked to go and correct them. One other case stands out (among many) when they heated up candy in a microwave with no door and pieces flying out burnt them. No protective gear? Dafuq? Blinded by superheated candy, anyone?
