No way. Too tough for me.

I wonder, though...why do you suppose so many professional athletes consider golf to be their FAVORITE sport? (Activity, if you prefer.)

Even your opening salvo is identical;
Quote:I do not know if gods exist or not;
I see no reason to suspect gods CANNOT EXIST (that the existence of gods is impossible);
I see no reason to suspect that gods MUST EXIST (that at least one god is needed to explain existence);
I do not see enough unambiguous evidence upon which to base a meaningful guess in either direction...

It appears there like here you got good answers and disregarded them and eventually they grew tired of you.

I have not disregarded ANY of them...not a one. I have no idea of why so many here want to pretend that I have.

Are you from New Jersey, NS...or was that just a lucky guess?

Maybe they think that because you are.

Also, Nope.

Of course I am.

But the "Fairway Frank" moniker sounded as though he may play golf where I do. That is my golf moniker...because although I cannot hit the ball very far, I hit it straighter than your average bear.

I have not disregarded any of them. I am disregarding some of the insult comments, because they go nowhere.

Alright fair enough. Let's do this from scratch and do our best to cut the goading.

You asked why people identify as Atheists. You provided your definition and have stated it's ambiguous.

Now because it's ambiguous and we can't really put weight on any one definition over any other, (Personally, I favor the OED) then any quarreling over that fact seems superfluous.

So what's really the issue here?

I would love to do this without the goading...or the childish taunts. So let's do it...you and I.

You said that I "asked why people identify as Atheists."

I do not recall ever asking that question. I have given some personal speculation about it...based on my experience with the people who use that descriptor.

I may be wrong. That is one of the reasons why I am asking the questions I am.

Frankly, I do not truly care why anyone uses that descriptor. I would MUCH, MUCH rather everyone state exactly what their position is...in clear words, rather than using a descriptor on which I've never seen universal agreement.

That is the reason for the three questions I asked in the OP. I did not ask, "Are you an atheist?" because that would give me almost no useful information. But the answers to the questions would do that.

Please, NS...ask me any questions you have of me...and I will answer them as best and cleasrly as I can.
