It was a poor attempt at humor, but I am well aware of what a smart gun is "supposed" to be, when they prototyped nearly 30 years ago..........point of my improperly placed "smart gun, whats that" comment, was I challenge you to find one today, I think you will find the pickens to be quite slim, in that in the 3rd quarter of 2022, which is not even here yet. I find it hard to believe that the companies will last, being as the only ones who would buy them, are those who dont really want people to have guns.

Guns, and weapons in general, suck. Just saying. Imagine if there were no weapons.

A good point, and it touches on why we find ourselves where we do far beyond smart guns alone. Had the people who turned guns (..and so much else....)into a kingmaking wedge issue not groomed their base into ludicrous positions, to better exploit those people at the behest of those politicians owners, we would not be here in the first place. It's entirely likely that dumb guns, like dumb phones, would be a relic of the past we can't imagine having had to suffer through. You tell me. I think we should enforce our existing gun laws, address our severe issues with poverty and healthcare, and buy back at least some of the mounds of unsecured firearms idle in our country. Then, at least, we'd have some idea of what our Gun Problem actually looks like, and what sorts of further action, if any, specifically directed at that now un-muddied problem... we might take.
Is that the left side of some debate?
