Biblical Inerrancy - mandatory to be Christian?

The need is not desperate. The protection is not mandatory. The needs we have he gives. He gives us hope for that resurrection after death and we all will live without the plight we currently have. For those that have chosen the contract, the life during the time after resurrection, will be awesome. It does not say that to the others. In fact, at least in comparison, it will be like a pit of lava.

Sorry - but reality says differently

For those children who starve to death every day - their need WAS desperate.

Obviously - the protection they got from a "god" did not exist.

ANd if he gave - they would still be alive

Even the Bible itself is concerned with pagan influences, 1 Jn is written against false teachers as many other books are. Have you ever read through the Bible from start to finish and just listened to the text, ready to follow it as you recognize God?

(bolded by me)
I see your problem. Follow God and not the book...

Fine - now prove a god exists - and it is YOURS.
To date - there is NO proven god to follow - and YOU won't provide an proof otherwise

What you really mean is no proof that you would accept.

This is not paradise. All are going to die. God is not going to prevent it. But, never will we "not exist" and one day again our God promises resurrection; we will all get new bodies. Then, by God's own hand, his people shall never experience any sort of suffering again.
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

What about all the people that are sent to Hell to be tortured for eternity? Some of them may even be your friends or family members.

Will that not cause you suffering knowing that they are being tortured for eternity?

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Aha! Someone who thinks they know what's in the Bible?

Hell is a source of comfort for those who accept that sin requires punishment. God will be fair to each, perhaps he will give people another chance. But the fact that sin is punished is a comfort for people who long to see the wicked eat the fruit of their deeds, a sign of inner purity, not of weakness.

You know who else likes to see others suffer? Sociopaths, due to their lack of empathy. If you enjoy the thought of others suffering, you obviously lack empathy.

MrInfidel, do you think it is pathological to want there to be justice if someone is murdered?
