The newly discovered copy of the Pentetuch which I have been trying to peddle without much success has the following footnote (z) after Genesis 3:7...
(Z) We are like monkeys in the garden, still sitting in the branches of the tree in the middle, eating the fruit of knowledge of good and evil. I know what the truth is because my fruit gives me such knowledge. But you say, "No, my fruit gave me the truth...it is mine, not yours!" So I try to grab your fruit away from you, and you try to grab my fruit away from me (only one monkey can have the truth after all) We screech and scream at one another, jumping and chasing each other from branch to branch. The fruit I have been eating falls to the ground, but I quickly grab another from a branch nearby. It gives me new energy and I am able to resume the frantic pursuit. The same happens to you. I must succeed in taking your fruit, and cannot allow you to take mine because there are not many left in the tree and soon Winter is coming and we will have to leave the Garden. And that is the truth (bite, munch, swallow).
