The right to mis-define oneself
RE: The right to mis-define oneself
The "key" is the area directly beneath and in front of the basket.  In any case, I don't know what penisium is either, but whenever somebody talks about "advantages" we don't even know about, limited to men.......penisium comes to mind.

Quote:Because we can't actually opine upon the problems of -x- as an undefined quantity.  If we're offering some justification it's got to be a little more than "because there may be stuff we don't know about".  No shit, but irrelevent, it's the stuff that we -do- know about that we're leaning on to reach conclusions.
I'm not offering justification for anything, I'm saying I'm sceptical that it's only bone density and muscle mass that give a man an advantage over a woman in fighting, for a start I would have thought the height advantage and size of the heart and the skeletal structure of a man would be preferable for fighting, and when I said we don't know I mean you or I or most other people on this forum, maybe a biologist with knowledge of skeletal structures and fighting might know.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

They aren't limited to men, but men have more testosterone than women, less body fat and more muscle mass which as the doctor in the article said is an obvious advantage.

A man could have his balls and cock cut off and the testosterone drained from his sytem entirely and die, and his corpse could be beaten at sports by most women I imagine, but on average men do have the advantage in most sports.

Which may not be an issue at all, in the case of transwomen, and which -isn't an issue- at all if competitors were placed upon their rankings, rather than segregated by their sex.  If a male was competing with a group of women it would be because his stats -placed him- in that position, whatever advantages he has, that's as far as they took him, and all of the little girlies have the same time in a 40yard dash as he does, at his level of competition....if some basketball star decided to have gender reassignment.....she would find herself in competition with her statistical peers.

I was ignoring that transwomen find themselves in a different scenario because I wasn't talking about transwomen, I was saying that men are on average stronger taller faster than women, it isn't a cop out to say they usually are, because some men are dead.  I'm not saying a dead mans corpse could outrun the fastest woman alive, I'm just saying that an average man is vastly stronger than the average woman.

I'm still not talking about transwomen, just talking about women.  And I made a point earlier that I don't personally care if men fight women or whatever.  But from a heavy weight champions perspective I can see why he wouldn't want to bother fighting a heavy weight woman, and from a womans perspective I can see why they would want their own division so they have a very good chance at earning money and being a champion of their own league table which they stand little chance of doing when faced with men.

A heavyweight woman is not in the same weightclass as a heavyweight man.  Why would they fight at all?  Sure, they could agree to, but meh. If -any- group of competitors, male or female, wants their own division or league.... they are free to make that a reality.

Well I thought you were saying that men don't have any advantages to women.  I was saying they do have advantages severe enough for it to be viable that they have separate divisions.  If there were no segregation based on gender, then a heavyweight woman would be in the same weight class as a heavy weight man.  They would probably look a lot different I imagine, and the majority of the woman weight would be fat rather than bone and muscle and the fight would probably consist of a muscle bound huge guy kicking the crap out of a fat woman.

Yes, and a "fat" man would -also- get his ass beaten by a musclebound man, regardless of whether or not they are both over 205 (for example).   Weightclasses are very often not uniform, at present.  What one division considers -x- in their female gender league/division may be an entirely different wieghtclass in the male gender's league/division (this ignores that there are usually very few weightclasses in the female leagues or divisions to begin with, comparatively).  A welterweight woman in one league may weigh 135...whilst a welterweight man in another...170.  Understand?  You put two 135lb people in the ring who have agreed to fight, I'm not entirely certain that penis is going to be the deciding factor.

Your comments have left the realm of disagreement and have simply become disgusting.  Wink
(really though, have you seen many overweight female fighters...do they seem to have a bodyfat problem to you?)

There is actually barely a disagreement, I've said let women fight men if they want to.  I've said men don't always have the advantage, I used the extreme example that a male corpse wouldn't be able to outrun the fastest woman on earth.  The only thing I'm making a point of is that if you don't segregate genders in sports men will dominate every weight class and every competition in sports that involve fighting strength and speed.

I'm saying a 250 pound athletic female is so So rare, most women of that weight are just fat.   Yet there's a few Brock Lesnars out there who are that weight, can do back flips, accidently land on their head, and still get up and carry on fighting.  In the short term I'd probably find it interesting to see a woman fight a man in these kinds of sports, but in the long term I just don't think women would stand enough of a chance for it to be entertaining.
