We can only know the mind of God in so far as what has been written. What has been written from the point of Past events (even though for us it speaks of the future) is of the ever increasing iniquity of man. To the point of God seizing control of the earth from man, breaking the seal and pouring out his wrath. We know the SCOTUS' decision is not in compliance with God or His law/will for us. therefore one can observe yet another piece or component being placed into play that will end the reign of man.

It's not a fact. You can't demonstrate it. You have no way of knowing it to be true. Therefore, only a belief.

You judge that you know how one may know the mind of God.  You judge that the court's decision goes against His will rather than representing it.  You know that based only on your high opinion of your qualifications to divine the mind of God .. and none of you have earned the pride you show.

Listen, fool: if you can only know what's in god's mind via what he has written, then you should also know that the bible does not say one. single. solitary. word about gay marriage, and so therefore you can't say what god thinks on the issue.

The bible says exactly one thing about gay people- and that's in the old testament that you'll conveniently ignore whenever you need to to avoid looking bad, but is somehow relevant now- and that's to kill them, to have them put to death. This and allowing them to marry are not mutually exclusive properties, in fact the latter might aid the former, since you'd have more gay people readily identifiable in pairs, so you're wrong on that count even if we take you seriously. But the other thing is... are you killing gay people?

No? But I thought you could know the mind of god through what has been written! This is the only thing that has been written about this issue, so it seems to me you're cherry picking here, and then superimposing your own bigotry upon your god without a care in the world as to what's actually in the bible.

Par for the course for you, it may be, but don't for a moment think you get to say what god thinks on this issue, given the premises of your own damn argument.

The primary reason for this thread was to taunt Christians about unanswered prayer...
The assumption being that the supreme court's decision to force the last dozen or so states into accepting gay marriage was on the foremost of every God fearing Christian's mind...

I simply pointed out that according to the book of Revelation the world (you 'good' people) are supposed to embrace iniquity till God says He has Had enough, and put an end to the reign of man. I also pointed out that even if there was a hold out group praying for the last 12 states, we have been commaned to pray "Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven." In such a way as to supperceed everything else we ask for as That request was mandated by Christ Himself in our one and only model prayer. Next I pointed out how the events of revelation is the full fillment of that prayer.

I was pointing to the fact that debauchery like gay marriage was apart or a key element that triggered the end times which again full fills "Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven" Part of the Lord's pray that Christians have been praying from the time of Christ. This is the 'answer' to the OP's short sighted letter that asks why didn't God answer our prayers. Again He did, just not the one you assumed we are all praying for.

Christians do all sorts of nasty things that goes against their supposed faith. That was why I posted the verses about helping the poor. All through the bible god orders his followers to help the needy and claims to be pissed when they don't. If god was real, he would be mad at his followers not atheists or same sex couples.

I still think that if this is another sign of how mankind is slipping closer to the brink, religious people should be celebrating even more than gays.

Perhaps it is time for you all to open your eyes and realize that the SCOTUS decision is an instance of God's will being done and accept it for the rebuke that it is of your presumption in assuming you know the mind of God.  Why is humility so lacking among the flock anyway?

Could be that you all should remember what God did in Egypt, He allowed the hardhearted Pharaoh to do as he pleased, then God had His turn at demonstrating that to defy Him brings a cost to the defiant. God said He will allow the world start spiraling down quicker, to bring an end to this world for His peoples sake. Are you absolutely sure you've not jumped into the spiral.
