Where slavery is tolerated (Chattel slavery) there are no regulations. The above link points to 'arab countries' who still deal in chattel slaves.

That's not an argument for biblical morality. It's an argument against cultures where slavery is still tolerated. It doesn't make the bible any better.

I changed my mind, slavery is fine now. I just bought 7. Some of them were still alive.

Your right you are buying them everytime you buy a cheap good or food you are paying into the system that 'buys' slaves.

Grant people a living wage and make people pay 50 cents more for any given product. We were there before. When I was a child, an unskilled worker could care for a family. At least he could feed and cloth them without food stamps or other state subsidies. That system isn't written in stone. It grew within the last two or three decades.

I wonder what would happen if I offered myself as a slave to one of those apologists who feel the need to defend slavery. Would they take me as a slave? If not, why not? Would they then admit owning another human is wrong?

They'd never agree to that, of course. I think it would hurt my argument because they could then claim that I agree with slavery. Maybe a better question, rather than offering myself as a slave, is: Do you agree with keeping slaves? Or would you ever want to own another human being?

I know I would not want to be a slave so I can reasonably assume that other people don't want to be slaves either. Apologists don't have any empathy apparently. Putting rules in place on how to treat slaves makes it fine, apparently.
