Bandsaw, Tablesaw, lathe.
Give me the wood and I'll make you one.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

This reminds me of a guy I worked with years ago who would frequently have me over after work for a bit of a smoke-out. He'd often complain about not having a girlfriend or getting laid and would ask crazy shit like, "What is it with women? What's wrong with me?"
I would bite my tongue, stare at his large replica of the U.S.S. Enterprise hanging from his living room ceiling, and say, "I don't know, man. Maybe you should just get out more. You know, mingle."
Bah! Humbug.
I found me a scifi geek girl. She even cosplays! (Though much to my chagrin, she refuses to let me photograph her doing it, let alone share it with others). She prefers Dr. Who and Star Trek over Star Wars... but hey, nobody's perfect.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

No. I emailed her that picture, and she texted me back: "That would be super-creepy in the living room. I don't think I'd want a Dalek in my living room when I walk in there in the dark."
But it's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen!

He's so adorable!! I squeaked (almost as high-pitched as he did) at the cuteness!

what cracks me up are the rather banal components that comprise the Dalek tree.
As far as being creepy, I agree, actually;
a friend of mine is a huge Star Trek buff
and he has a life-size movie cutout of Nimoy as Spock.
Scares the crap out of me every time I go over there.
I always forget it's there.

Just spotted this thread. Sorry if I'm repeating one someone has already posted. But Bill Maher is coming on so I'm just going to leave this here.

this one is starting to get old on YouTube, but for those who've never seen it,
