the book of revelation says Christians will be mass murdered and beheaded. For not submitting and worship the beast and his image. But I fear not the world, because Jesus has overcome the world. I fear not the ones who can destroy my body, rather I fear the Lord who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Christians have been the ones being killed because Satan is the god of this world. He will wage war with the saints and he will overcome them, but God is faithful and true and He will put all His enemy under His feet.

And I don't fear the book of Revelation because I know it wasn't an exercise in fortune-telling but was written to address what were then contemporary Christian concerns, and the author adopted a highly stylized, symbolic way of talking about them because to have come right out and pointed the finger at Rome would have been extremely dangerous.

Any of the existing gods are fine. There's no problem with gods, and no need to invent more of them, or an ideal one. They all have their value. The problem lies with any given gods dimwitted sycophants.

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

You might want to take up that free will thing with one of your fellow Christians here, Drich. He thinks that free will is un-Biblical and was smuggled into Christian theology by way of Greek philosophy. To be clear, he distinguishes between the ability to choose and "free will".
