What's the worst scent you've ever smelled?

I beg to differ. I have smelled a vagina exactly once that was one of the most fetid smells of all time. It doesn't make this list because, well, you know, I powered through. Because vagina.

But that's my point exactly. Even a clean vagina doesn't smell like anything I'd particularly want on a pizza anyway. But I have much higher sensory tolerance, when it comes to vaginas, than I do with anything else, for obvious reasons. Call it double standard, if you will...

I used to rent a room from a woman whose house had very old, and uninsulated, foundations. Cats would leave kills under the house all the time. Being as I used her yard for a large garden, I didn't mind the pest control, but god in the summer there was a favorite spot they would cache them and it was right under the back entrance to the house.

Worst smell I've ever smelled? A mug of hot chocolate that someone had left for months and was encrusted with mould.

Hot chocolate isn't supposed to smell very strongly like rotten meat and vomit.

I had a friend that had a golden retriever that liked to eat feces. We took the dog for a walk once through a neighborhood that was still under construction, and apparently, the construction workers would frequently take a dump in the woods near the sites. When we got back to my friend's house, we were standing there in his hallway talking as I prepared to leave, when I heard a splashing noise behind me. I turned around to see a brown liquid pool next to the dog, and as the smell hit me I said, "Oh, dude, I think your dog shit on your floor." He sighed and replied, "Nope, that's vomit." His dog had eaten a bunch of the construction worker's shit on the walk and then puked it up on my friend's floor. I said, "Good luck with that," and I was out the door.

Dead things. I spent one summer during high school in Georgia working on a garbage truck. There were lots of less than pleasant smells that summer including about 50 lbs of shrimp that had been rotting in Georgia sun for most of the week. We had to go empty the truck early after that one. But the worst was emotional as well as the smell. One of my friends had been missing for a week. His step brother and I went to his apartment, climbed up on the second floor balcony and went in through the patio door. He was dead in the middle of the living room floor. Been there for several days. Black, swollen, laying in a puddle of bodily fluids. The smell was awful. That was almost 20 years ago, and I still have a vivid picture of both the sight and smell in my mind.
