My daughter was around 4 years old. Just about.
I got two amazing experiences.
A week after living with my parents again - because of course I eventually gave her the house because I didn't want my daughter feeling out of routine, etc. - she came to see me. I sobbed and begged her to give us another chance.
You know what she did? She laughed.
She laughed and told me she "hadn't even noticed the difference..."
Yeah. 10 years of being together, 5 years of marriage.

Mine was 1 (I think, I don't even remember anymore). Did the same (sniveling and all), just gave everything up and went home with what I could fit in a duffel bag, did exactly as I was asked. Didn't fight custody, didn't fight child support arrangements, nothing.
Stared at my daughter for a solid two and a half hours, just smiled and smiled. I haven't spoken to her or the ex since. I have a semi-recent picture of them them family was nice enough to pass along for me. I don't look at it.
Women do the strangest things.
Remarried now...coming up on ten years actually, 4 more kids. I guess it would have been silly to expect to get it right the first time. That never happens with anything else, for me anyway..lol. Good luck with this hot little number you're going out with.

First date after divorce will make you pretty fucking nervous. Especially if you weren't the one who left. Took me more than 10 years before I was ready to really date again. I probably waited too long to have anything serious. Having kids makes it difficult, but it can work. Didn't work for me--but I've seen it work for other people. Good luck with it.

I recently had my first two dates after the breakup of my three-year relationship, both enjoyable, as friends but we'll see what happens.
Funny thing is, the ex- who recently left me calls me up last night having learnt of the dates late last week, and tells me she doesn't want to continue working on our friendship any more. She cited another reason, but ...
Works for me. I'm happy being an Outside Cat.

How I have no sense of time.
How I can not remember appointments or to take medications without alarms notifying me.
How I am looking forward to seeing a specialist next week to see if they can figure out what is wrong with my brain.
(Maybe it is my medications?)
On the bright side, I can still hold down a job and I am good at it. (I love outlook calendar!)
Yet, I feel like I am going to have a mental breakdown. Maybe I just need a vacation. I haven't had one in several years.

I'm not currently dating but thought I'd share the best personal dating ad I've ever read:
"Looking for another chance to prove I'm completely incapable of intimacy with another human being. Also, 55' Chevy for sale."

Thanks. Hopefully they will be able to figure out what is going on. I have some sort of inflammatory process that is affecting my body and it might just be moving into my brain now. We'll see.
