Oh, I understand it just fine. It's just that when some people feel they need a mate in order to make themselves feel better, often times the root problem is actually their own personal insecurities and lack of self-esteem. That's why they want the validation that comes with having a significant other. What that person really needs to do is learn to accept themselves and love themselves, which coincidentally, would make finding a mate easier.
I'm not saying that's you. Just some food for thought.
I have enough self-esteem (not too much, though) and I love myself so much I'd fuck myself if I could but that doesn't stop people from constantly cutting me off. Guess being bisexual is indeed a curse after all.

I think depression has a lot to do with one's own choices. If you disagree, that's great, but if you're going to tell me I don't get it because I don't have it then I'll tell you you're just a drama queen who is seeking sympathy by pretending to suffer from depression.
I could respect your opinion, EP. But then I'd have to respect Ken Ham's opinion about the age of the earth, and Food Babe's opinion about genomics.
This is a settled issue. Causes of depression involve things like abuse, genetics, social isolation, and major events. "Personal choices" isn't on the list. And that's not opinion. That's medical science.

I like both of them.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

About 3 months after I had gotten married I was incredibly drunk at a party and I kissed a young girl who was a good friend of mine. I knew it was a stupid thing to do.
I decided to actively avoid her after that night as it seemed the right thing to do.
I never saw her again because she killed herself on the 5 year anniversary of her own mother's suicide.
She had a mentor. She followed her mum.
Years later after my daughter was born I realised that to kill myself would be to give my daughter a greater chance of doing the same thing if she ever found herself in the dark place I was in.
I felt quite trapped in this world for a while after. Not wanting to live but loving my kid so much that I had no choice but to live.
I've been on anti-depressants ever since. But my life is good. I've moved on to better things.
If you have depression at the moment, you have to realise that things can get better, but it won't happen overnight.
If your taking medication, take them as if missing one could kill you.
Once you have depression, in my opinion, your chances of dying from suicide are far greater than any other.

My children are life savers for this very reason. And they're the only ones I can see that way. I have a really hard time not seeing anyone one else as extremely selfish when they ask me to live for their own happiness in spite of my personal misery.
