I've always seen him as a character. His show never fails to make me laugh.

As far as I know, my Dad isn't a fan of either, but he ate up all of the "Obama wants to take all your guns away" rhetoric. There is research that shows that conservatives have a stronger fear reaction than liberals. This has actually been known for quite awhile.

However, think about what this means if you want to manipulate a large group of people. Seriously give this some thought. The right wing politicians and the right wing media absolutely rely on this psychological difference in order to stoke fears with nonsense like that spewed out by Jones, Limbaugh, Fox news, etc... knowing that the fearful don't have any natural defenses against this kind of fear mongering. It's an easy strategy for the cons to follow and it surely is getting the results they want.
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.
