Anybody remember the year a quake in Mexico brought down a house built on a small "hill", one that turned out to be a Mayan pyramid? This was in the sixties, IIRC.

Mexico City devastated in 7+ quake
|
With all due sympathy for the city, saying it is "devastated" seems like the usual exaggerated media nonsense. They have 9 million people there. If the city were devastated, that to me would mean more than a dozen casualties by any standard, as tragic as they are.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Trump tweeted this:
God bless the people of Mexico City. We are with you and will be there for you. Many replies have been about asking him whether or not he's still going to make them pay for the Wall. My own included. Disclaimer: I am only responsible for what I say, not what you choose to understand.
We'll be there for you? Sounds like he's losing it.

Yeah, 44 dead overall ("at least") according to a bulletin I just recieved on my PC.

Jesus, just that one flattened building they showed on ABC World News is potentially going to have scores of casualties.
They've got footage of buildings coming down, interior damage occurring and debris falling from the sides of buildings smashing to the streets. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

The sand under the city has enough liquid that in an earthquake, there is enough liquefaction to make quicksand. It's never pretty when a quake occurs in Mexico City.
