Prayer: The solution for the person who wants to be seen to be helping but is to lazy to get off their arse and do something.

Because that's all any interested party seems to be willing to offer, and it didn't do anything the last time, nor will it do anything the next time. Or, you know, because we're all a bunch of anti-christian antifa agitators.

The people who died were all Christian, obviously. If it brings any sense of peace or comfort to their families to be offered prayers, then why would anyone have a problem with it?
It's bullshit and does ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY NOTHING to solve the problem.
There are bullet-riddled bodies across the breadth of this country every day and all the thinking and praying in the world isn't going to stop it.

Again, even if prayer doesn't "work", why take issue with it if it's bringing a sense of comfort to someone who just lost their family member? Let these people have their comfort. They just lost someone they love in a horrible way.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

In my view, there isn't anything wrong with it, except when thoughts and prayers are offered in lieu of doing anything else.

I would agree with that.

Yeah pretty much.

How do you know that's all they're offering? There are scores of Catholic and other Christian charities in addition to individual Christians who not only pray but also help with money and aid. How many athiest charities are there?
