I would find this to be a legitimate criticism of the democratic party if they ran a hard-core, partisan stance against drugs.  But they don't.

It would be legit if he was an elected official or even an appointee of an elected official.  But he isn't.

I think it's far more damning when you get repeated republicans, whose party takes a strong anti-gay stance, getting busted in gay prostitution stings.  Or who get busted for getting their mistress an abortion when their party is passionately anti-abortion.  Or for the religious right to fall in love with a man who has cheated on each of his three wives and paid off a porn star to keep quiet about banging her.

The difference being I never implied this man's behavior stemmed from his political affiliations. It's just a catchy title that is directly related to what the story is about. Lol

Having mentioned it as part of the title does somewhat imply that you think there's a connection. However, it seems you pulled that from the headline of the news article you shared, which is a logical thing to do when you share a news item.

I'm not seeing ED make the connection between being a Democrat and being a piece of shit who tries to kill people with meth, so it's a bit of strawman to argue that Democrats aren't all like this guy. It's fine to mention, but it doesn't refute ED because he didn't take that position.
