Bad Mom appears to have thoughts.
Quote:"This system needs changing,” exclaimed Elba Pope who spoke with News10NBC at her lawyer's office. “I trusted RPD and they horribly let me down. They let society down. They let anybody with any type of mental issues down.”
Quote:She feels like she got me in trouble,” she explained, wiping away tears. “She feels so bad for that. I had to explain to my baby 'You're not in trouble. You're not the bad guy. You had a mistake and it's OK to have a mistake.
Quote:"And I'm like 'Sir, we need a mental health. I think my daughter is about to have a meltdown.'” She recalled. “He just disregarded me. Like he didn't care."
Quote:Emotions were high, very, very, high,” Pope said. “My daughter, she was being very disrespectful. I got a little emotional and maybe… not maybe, I definitely could've spoken in a different manner.

If that’s a picture of mum in the link, we can discount everything she says because she’s clearly overweight.

The family is suing the dept for a handful of things, wonder how much John Q Taxpayer is going to be on the hook for this time.
-and it all started over a dispute about a car...that had nothing whatsoever to do with the girl, as it turns out - for which no one was arrested.

Calling the police in a situation where someone is in emotional or mental distress doesn't work because that's not what they are trained to deal with. But who do you call? Mental health care and services in this country have declined in availability for decades. EMTs often end up responding in these situations but the best they can do is take the person to an ER where they may or may not be cared for appropriately. Now with COVID I feel pretty sure that even going the EMT/ER route isn't an option.

The cops didn't do anything about the call. They got sidetracked by macing a kid.
That, if we're paying attention, was what they framed as "family trouble" when they tried to get out in front of the news. They weren't responding to a pic call, there was no pic call. There was an unrelated dispute over a car, no arrests or charges...and a kid got maced.

Okay - e-fucking-nough. You don't mace a 9 year old who is handcuffed. If not one of that whole flock of cops realized that's a true...then this is one of the most heinous displays of cops who should not be cops.
Anyone with any fucking sense doesn't need a MMQ to know that you simply don't mace a kid - especially one in handcuffs.

The kid probably needed mental help for quite some time....
Why do these "parents" get a pass on their responsibility?
Oh - that's right - all cops are pigs bent on torturing and killing the "innocent"...
So sez the left.
Quick edit. Last 2 lines not aimed at you....

Go through the whole thread - I agree with you.
I just don't think this event happened in a vaccum.
The whole event is partially the fault of the "parents" who obviously did not do this kid any good...

Cops were there about a dispute over a car. I'll just keep saying it. The cops assaulted and then unlawfully imprisoned a nine year old. Then they lied about it.
Bad Mom doesn't have shit to do with that.
