Firstly, why should 1 or 4 be derogatory?

In 1 I simply supplied some examples of nature - which is where you said I would find evidence of his attributes.

In 4 I suggested ways in which you might know this person. After all, that's how I know a great many people. I take it he isn't a drinking buddy and you aren't a Buccs fan (get out)?

2. conscience - what one is seeing in nature is confirmed by a person's mind/spirit that God is eternal.

I see botflies and tapeworms and parasitic wasps in nature.....not eternal gods. I've been told that the former can tell me about the latter.......

3. scripture - by reading, one come to an understanding that humans are made in God's image and the end purpose of man is to give glory to God.

I actually came to a different understanding, that god was created in mans image...and that some of us simply wish to be slaves. hrugs: To be fair, the latter part didn;t come directly from scripture, but in the way that people handled scripture. What I got from scripture itself (regarding purpose) was that the author was a very, very lonely person.

The sad part is the religious often do have the experience of 'talking to' their deity or a manifestation of such an entity. A form of madness maybe but one our species has been prone to since the first witch-doctors and possibly earlier.

The answer to the "Hiding" question is the same as the answer to the "Knocking" post.

Moses knew God face to face, and even he blew it when he had to step out in faith, and speak to the Rock ( he blew it by smacking the rock ( a type of Christ) like he did before, when he was supposed to speak to it).

It is nearly like a game- and it is ALWAYS our move.
The blinders come off (or should I say- the revelation increases) as we play the game.
I hate to use the word- "Game" but another parallel escapes me.

Yes, He does "Hide" and we, like little kids playing "Hide and Seek" are supposed to seek.
Maybe that is why "Child- likeness" is commended.

I believe that god hiding would have alot to do with our "free will" or possibly incapacity to show himself more evidently, also, would it really be a positive thing to god to show himself?
Why would a god reveal itself? If we had religious wars over imaginary gods, imagine how it'd be with certainty of him. xD

Certainly, i think, it makes no difference for him if the universe does follow his purposes anyway.

I read a short story yesterday from Isaac Asimov called the Last Answer. Interesting stuff, the conclusion kind of makes alot of sense in itself. Our purpose xd.

If he can't, then I have doubts as to whether or not he deserves the title - but I sympathize with his situation (as any creature capable of experiencing isolation and loneliness would). Brings up an interesting line of wondering - what if god has lost his shit - might go a long way towards explaining things here and there?

Well i'm not speaking necessarily for my own beliefs, but pantheism suggests that god "transformed" into the universe in order to create, and so the universe is a "phase" where he sacrificed his "being" temporarily in order to become the creation itself.

One of the interesting things i find that makes sense to me in Last Answer, is suggesting that God created the universe to think for him. xD.
I mean, not humanity for sure, but i believe that artificial intelligence for example can have close to unlimited self-improvement. Who knows, our purpose would actually be to create a "multivac" after all. xD
And that would lead us to "The Last Question" by Isaac Asimov. Interesting stuff too, xD.

Pretty mind blowing story eh? I'd also recommend nightfall if you have not read that yet. I robot is amazing too, especially the ones with Stephen.
