Especially considering that the creator God is proposed (at least by the major monotheistic religions) as an omnipotent being, why would he create a universe where most of the space is empty and/or unsuitable for human life?
If he wanted a huge sandbox to make us humans live and to test us, why not make the whole of the universe like that? After all, he can pop things into existence, pretty much like a computer does when it generates a Minecraft world.
So, the question is: is Notch more intelligent a designer than Yahweh/Allah/Jehovah?
Or is Notch just copying God's design?
Minecraft is a sub reality of our reality. Our reality is likely a sub reality of some larger reality. We know that intellects create sub-realities. Minecraft is evidence of such. We don't know that sub realities come into existence without any intellect.

What do you mean by "wash between"? Minecraft reality is dependent on our reality....but it does not come into existence without the presence of an intellect. It appears that sub realities only come into existence via the hand of some intellect. It appears that our reality is a sub reality. Therefore there is reason to believe our reality came into existence via the hand of an intellect.

Do you suppose that we're are all characters in a 'computer game' played by some extra-universal aliens?

This is not an unreasonable proposition.

This is not an unreasonable proposition.
Well even if so, it's just as pointless to us as any other principally unprovable hypothesis.

You don't want to pursue doubting Hawking Radiation without a careful study of the calculated spectrum of it first.
Really.
