RE: Bloody poll: would you worship a God whose existence was certain?

-sigh- I thought Kay had returned...
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

For theists there are corresponding choices for what you would do if the god whose existence science had demonstrated wasn't yours. You gonna switch sides and worship the actual lord of the cosmos?
Okay, What would he do for me (assume that is known with a similar standard of certainty as that applied to his existence) if I worshiped him that he wouldn't do for me if I didn't?
Just because there is really a big bubba it doesn't necessarily follow that I have cause to take big bubba into account.

Didn't catch this thread when it was posted, and wouldn't have, if not for the necro (wewt). However, perhaps we should point apologists to the poll results before they waste time arguing something that will not address the issue their target audience has with their pet fantasy?

Ok, i am necro. But i am both atheist as multireligional. Neither/more than one poll position can be subscriped by me.
This does not change the content: I like to learn to understand everyone here, not only the people 'i like' or the people 'i dislike'. A normal rational person sometimes follows that person or thoughts, but is also able to change his mind or point of view, at least broadening it with other views. If you do not want to hear what I think, do not bother, I will try to understand YOU but need your (existing) replies therefore and that will take some years, i see... (beautiful forum, i really mean it; but beautiful and less beautiful members also). +je

I'm getting the feeling that there might be a bit of a language barrier in place here.

Would an all powerful being really want worship? I am rather indifferent to the religious practices of ants and I assume that any really powerful being would not really care what humans do.

An existing god would be the only being in the universe that would have no logical need for worship.

Please be specific, is this god omnipotent or not? is he responsible for evil? is he any specific god?
