I think trying to follow either is impossible due to the contradictory nature of that shitmobile of a book. Even someone determined to follow every letter is doomed to failure.

Christians sometimes admit that god doesn't follow his own rules. When asked why murder is a sin but their god can committ genocide, many will say because god has the right to kill humans because he created life. The same people will then assure you that their god loves everyone
