WTF do Easter eggs have to do with Easter?

RE: WTF do Easter eggs have to do with Easter?
Wouldn't it be considered a bit disrespectful to eat Jesus, that is, not as a wafer in a church setting?
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Here we have the Easter Bilby.

Quote:Rabbits in Australia are seen as pests; to better appease the Australian public, Haigh's began offering a chocolate Easter Bilby in 1993 as an alternative to the popular Easter Bunny

The custom of painting and distributing eggs at the spring equinox to welcome the resurrected god is millennia old, well predating Christianity.

Quote:The egg is widely used as a symbol of the start of new life, just as new life emerges from an egg when the chick hatches out.
The ancient Zoroastrians painted eggs for Nowrooz, their New Year celebration, which falls on the Spring equinox. The Nawrooz tradition has existed for at least 2,500 years. The sculptures on the walls of Persepolis show people carrying eggs for Nowrooz to the king.[citation needed]
There are good grounds for the association between hares (later termed Easter bunnies) and eggs, through folklore confusion between hares' forms (where they raise their young) and plovers' nests.[2]

Quote:Nowruz marks the first day of spring and the beginning of the year in Iranian calendar. It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox, which usually occurs on March 21 or the previous/following day depending on where it is observed. As well as being a Zoroastrian holiday and having significance amongst the Zoroastrian ancestors of modern Iranians, the same time is celebrated in parts of the South Asian sub-continent as the new year. The moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year and Iranian families gather together to observe the rituals.

I dunno, but the Reese's seasonal egg-shaped candies are one of my reasons for living. Also, I have consumed a chocolate Jesus. My grandmother always had something Jesusy in our easter basket.

As for easter eggs, for no reason in particular, I take an egg, shake it up like crazy, poke holes in both ends, blow out the guts, and paint the shell with nail polish. It's something to do.
