I never read "Forged" because he made the point so emphatically in his earlier books and also because I have read Wheless' Forgery in Christianity and how many ways are there to say the same thing, after all.

One of Ehrman's great observations though was how "jesus" started off as the strong-silent-type ( a la Gary Cooper) in "Mark" and ends up as fucking Chatty Cathy by "John."

Remarkable evolution. Why you wouldn't think they were talking about the same guy!

It depends on whether or not the Gospel of John was written some time after the Gospel of Mark.

[Minimalist]

Generally the observation is that "Mark" was first with "Luke" and "Matthew" coming along later and copying large parts and then "John" comes out of the woodwork later on.

Only the dumbest of fundies think any of these were written by actual people of that name who witnessed the events in question.

The video is taken from '9', an animated film (based on a short film, also titled '9') featuring Elijah Wood in the title role and produced by Tim Burton. I enjoyed it, check it out if you haven't seen it.

Saw it in the theater and I own it on dvd. Awesome flick.
