It was Greeks: Crucible of Civilization, by PBS in 2000. We know absolutely nothing about when/if jesus of Nazareth was born. We know when Herod died because there is a historical record. The fact that you have to use the historical records of other people to surmise when your demigod was born just shows that you don't know anything. You're just guesstimating.

I hate this Common era stuff it just covers over the history.
What about Monday Tuesday Wednesday etc do we have to change their names to pretend its al scientific, January feb etc all old gods, are they to go? Stuff it, I cannot be arsed with people who want to pull down the statues of the old order and pretend it never happened. It did and it is there in the history. Christ did not exist and even soon after they had no accurate idea when he was supposed to have existed, between four and eight, or four and six out, or nine or seventy five and nobody noticed a star. Leave it in it tells you something.

One way to keep it from pissing you off could be to just think of it as this, AD means after death. Seeing as Xtians are supposed to believe in a Zombie Jesus isn't it a bit moronic to still call it After Death when the fucker supposedly rose from the dead? But anyway, just remember it means after death and be thankful someone who has indirectly caused so much fucking trouble in our world is dead.

 when I gave the spread between 6 and 4 BC I thought it was clear that 'we did not know when Christ was born.'
