“What was the actual sacrifice that God made?.
How can you expect a "sensible" answer when you are asking a question about a FAIRY TALE. No supernatural god is proven to exist. No real sacrifice ever happened
THE fairy tale of the christ is nothing more than a retelling of RITUAL HUMAN SACRIFICE carried out by Pagans of that time and prior.
Xtians will claim that the christ was totally human - however =IF THE ONE GOD became totally human - and died - there is NO god left. A human cannot raise itself from the dead. So - the Xtians would have to create the "trinity" nonsense to claim that the christ was one "person" of god - but not all three.
However - YOU are correct - the problem is that the story is embellished with "miracles" - Humans do not have the power to raise a rotting corpse from the grave - and the story of the christ is not that of a totally human being. Of Course - since genetically - a human male REQUIRES a human male parent - the christ could not actually be a human male - having no human parent at all. Remember - at the time - the prevailing view was that the male provided the "seed" from which the whole human was derived - and the woman was merely the "dirt" the seed was planted in (THE "seed" actually is in the bible)

Hey, Lee Strobel - we've never heard of him before! We're in trouble now, guys!
Re: JC's resurrection: sorry to burst any bubbles, but histroy tells us no such thing. The only - repeat, only - source of information that talks of a formerly-martyred man returning to life is the same story that talks of that character being martyred in the first place. There are no contemporary sources outside of that story that mentions those things. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Sorry.
You might just as well talk about the resurrection of Snow White and then go on to cite the direct eyewitness testimony of Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Doc, Bashful and Dopey, as well as the handsome prince and the wicked stepmother as proof that it was a real historical event. The lie is safe because it guards itself, whether we're talking Snow White, Humpty Dumpty or religious wizards.
Just about everything else you wrote is ecclesiastical spam and thus dismissed as such. I suggest you read our rules regarding preaching before you bring down a world of trouble on yourself. Other than that, welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Re: Stimbo
Unfortunately you cannot liken Jesus to Snow White. You can try to ignore it, but there are historical documents/texts outside of Scripture that speak of Jesus, an actual man who walked this earth.
When I say history shows us that Christ's resurrection is reasonable, I say so in terms of the many people who have based their life upon the news of Jesus Christ...people who have lived spanning hundreds of years since Christ walked this earth. That alone tells me there's more substance to Jesus' story, than to that of Snow White or Humpty Dumpty. Do you see billions of people living as followers of Snow White, or Humpty Dumpty today (if ever)? No. That's ridiculous. And yet, we do see billions following Christ. That is a fact neither of us can ignore.
Also, I read the rules. I am not trying to preach. I am trying to answer questions posed to the best of my ability. You are doing the same, so I suggest we allow each other the opportunity to continue doing so.

Just because something is popular does not make it reasonable.

Re: frankiej
True. However I didn't refer to Christianity as popular. 'Popular' has connotations to fads or passing waves where masses follow pop bands or the newest 'whatever'. Yet christianity shows a steady continuation over a great number of years, & it's not dying yet.
The fact that followers of Christ experience life transformation (ie, drug dealers' lives being turned around after accepting Jesus, a chance at suicide being overturned and new hope found for the bullied teen who hears about Jesus, people in developing nations whose hope and trust rests in God and they see provision and protection, etc.).
These are facts I cannot ignore.
These are transformed lives that testify to a living God; a God to whom those who believe have entrusted their lives.
