Indeed. Why do I hate religion? Ask the religious......they'll explain it to you (though they may not realize that they have done so).

Those higher up in the church tend to be the shadier ones, covering up abuse scandals and the like, and spreading the hate, and they are also the 'holier' ones, the more fundamentalist ones. If the fundamentalists are the nutjobs, then what does that say about your religion's fundamentals?
