The history channel hasn't done history in a couple of years.
They should call it the Bullshit Channel but then it would be indistinguishable from all the others.

They also broadcast ancient aliens. I don't think anyone in charge of programming at the history channel is under any delusion that they're actually offering any history.

The sad thing is that, this year, for me, at least, Easter's right at the tail end of spring break. That said, last year, spring break took place well before Easter.

Hehehe, spring break was easily the best part about growing up in Florida. So many tourists, so little clothing.

Also, I have to say this:

Has to be one of the worst acted movies in history. Heston and Brynner had enough wood in their performance to be porn stars. It's not that bad. Granted, Charlton Heston is an overrated actor, and the script does tend to moralise quite a bit (Hey, it's Cecil B. DeMille, what do you expect? His last film was the Greatest Show on Earth, a mediocre film which only got all the awards it did because of DeMille's ties with HUAC), but, hey, at least, for all its faults, it's not boring. In fact, along with Nicholas Ray's King of Kings, it may be one of the few relatively good Biblical epics of the era. And at least it isn't the 2007 remake:

And if you really want a biblical epic that's overrated, incoherent, and not acted well, look no further than Ben-Hur.

Wha? Ben Hur is boss, and then the chariot scene is over.

The problem is that the story and character development isn't anywhere near as good. Hell, even the writers could barely make head or tail of why the characters did what they do. And, of course, the Jesus subplot isn't properly integrated into the story at all. Say what you will about The Ten Commandments, but at least the characters' motivations made sense there.

DeMille turned it into something of a glorified soap opera. Which might have been the only way to make it watchable, but it also meant that half of the actors seemed to be in awe that they were doing a Biblical epic, and the other half seemed to be hamming it up. Growing up in a Christian home, that movie was required watching whenever it was on, so I can't sit through it today. But for a kid, it had its moments.
Then again for a kid, it paled next to Kolchak: The Night Stalker. Sweet Jesus, did that show keep me on the edge of my seat as a child.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Happy Chocolate Day!
I've been giving out little Swiss Chocolate eggs at work to any customers who have been nice to me. I had around 30 to start with, I've eaten a few myself and 222 customers later, I still have 3 left. I might have 3 nice people to give them to in the next 30 minutes (when I close) or I might have 3 to eat while I'm booking up.
