I don't know the whole Bible (New & Old Testament) yet, or any of the other versions. However I would like to know them to do some serious research and find all the fallacy's and logic in them. Christopher Hitchens knew ALLOT about religion, the man did his serious studies. And that's very handy when you want to be an Anti Theist and/or Atheist in my opinion

No it's not. Reserach into religion is as vital for public enlightenment as research into crime is vital for public security.

That's like saying the criminal shouldn't be too picky about what crime he commits, so long as he commits some crime and does so in depth.
That's true if your are more interested in being criminal than to benefit from any crime. You want to be bad for badness' sake, and not as a means to some other end. Somehow that is not surprising coming from Wooters.
Some religious idiots like GC and Drich iseems to be after the comfort of some specific dilusion. Wooters is just enemored with the general idea of being diluded.

Good piece, I thought this was the best bit !
Biblical scholars suggested a quarter of a century ago that the conquest stories be viewed as etiological legends and no more. But as more and more sites were uncovered and it emerged that the places in question died out or were simply abandoned at different times, the conclusion that there is no factual basis for the biblical story about the conquest by Israelite tribes in a military campaign led by Joshua was bolstered.
Thanks for the link, and my first most informative bit of info I got since I joined.

Shut the fuck up, man.
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

I'm not convinced, either, but my reasons are obvious. What's your reason for flirting with the idea of discarding the very tenet of your entire faith, as well as the first Commandment?

Another woefully unoriginal generalization from good news. I've read the entire bible, numbnuts. Your god is a selfish, jealous, vengeful, hypocritical, murderous, sexist, fuckwit if he do exist. Which he don't, so feel elation in that. I know I do.

I doubt very seriously you have actually read the bible from beginning to end. Probable, your education is based on a couple of years in community college, and wekpedia.

Hi, luckie's fiancee here; she actually really has read the bible cover to cover. She was very religious at one point in her life, church going, faith healing, god following... you name it. So, hey, I dunno, maybe actually know what you're talking about before you make broad statements, ebg.

Is this a specifically religious love, Chad? Or can my secular goal of love incite god's mercy too?

Yeah, reading a whole book is just UNBELIEVABLE. None of us here can do that.

Every time I see a Christian talk about a kind, loving personal God, or a God who is good and righteous, I have the same doubts.
