GodsChild a Few Quick Questions?

I have no problem with this, I do not see I'm being called out, yet I would not want to upset things nor set a president for future debates. As long as the Mods have no problem with it we will do it here, if they do then we can do this through the P.M. I will answer your first question, and if others have comments that's okay, but no questions from anyone but Rahul please. I'm going to give the short answer here, if you desire more detail just ask but, if you do have more questions about any specific question let's please finish them one at a time. I do not want to mix questions it only causes confusion. Salvation comes through the belief of who Christ is and what He did for man and the acceptance of this.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I would like a little more elaboration, if you don't mind. I was taught growing up Southern Baptist that if I believed in God, and if I believed that Jesus was the Son of God, made flesh, that he died on the cross for my personal sins, and accepted him as my Lord and Savior, that I would be Saved. Are you in agreement with this from your understanding being a Southern Baptist? I know that you mention in your profile that you differ in some respects.
Everything I needed to know about life I learned on Dagobah.

Yes I agree, I would add that Christ was of a virgin birth and raised from the grave. To my knowledge most protestant denominations believe this, some will add baptism. My beliefs differ with most Baptist in the areas of hell and the loss of salvation, I do not claim that I'm correct about either.

Yes, I believe one can walk away from Christianity, simply by returning to the worldly ways one was to leave and leaving Christ out of their life. I do not believe that God will take away our salvation because we sin while living for Him. It is a choice, just like it was a choice to accept Christ as Lord and savior. To break it down to a basic belief I believe one can believe in Christ yet reject what He did. I do not believe that one can be a Christian and reject the existence of Christ, just reject Him as savior.

Well that derails my whole point. I was always taught the impossibility of apostasy.
So I guess we are at a conclusion. There's just one thing I'd like to mention though, GC. I didn't choose to walk away, I just couldn't believe anymore. I never expected that to happen. This was a big thing in my psyche when it happened. I mean can you make yourself believe in the Tooth Fairy? You can't, right? That's where I'm stuck at. It was all a big accident. Completely unintentional. It just doesn't make sense to me that the loving God I was taught about growing up would doom me to Hell because I just came to a conclusion, that for me, was impossible to avoid once I reached a certain point. I didn't have a choice at all. But anyway. Thanks for humoring me. It's nice to discuss these things without everyone getting upset. I grow more and more tired of doing that.

I'm tired of it also, and would enjoy more of this type of discussion, sorry to have disappointed you, what point were you going to make. You see I can't support free will without going all the way, just because one chose to follow Christ does not mean one can not change their mind and choose not to.

Quote:just because one chose to follow Christ does not mean one can not change their mind and choose not to. whu? can you explain this? It is interesting because I was force-saved in an abusive situation when I was very young. Does that mean I'm still walking around as an atheist christian and I didn't even know it?

One can not be forced saved, the decision must be yours alone, I've seen that very thing happen before and it makes me very upset. I'm sorry that happened to you. What it means for you is that if you have never accepted Christ of your own free will... well you haven't chosen Him as your Lord and Savior. Exactly how do you feel?
