The fact that you're an atheist doesn't necessarily mean that you're not a twat.)



But are you more likely, or less likely, to be a twat if you are a theist?

I turned 45 last week, so I'm almost at the halfway point. Deconverted at some point over the past ten years, realized it for sure a couple of years ago.

Turned 44 just the other week (by the way, Min and Tonus, happy birthday - you kept that quiet!). I'd like to say I've been an atheist my whole adult life but I'll have to get back to you when I grow up.

I think it was Pat Condell who said something like "religion is the perfect hiding place for the scoundrel", echoing of course Steven Weinberg's point. Then again that sounds a bit too pollite to be one of his.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
