Atheists at Christmas
Do you celebrate? I personally love it! The lights, the tree, the carols, gifts, family time, hot coco, winter time, etc(: Now those things have nothing to do with Christianity! What I hate is the prayer, midnight service, etc. for obvious reasons. My family prays A LOT during Christmas... I just don't know how to deal with it.

What's your opinion on the whole thing?

Ask them "If god is all knowing then why do have to pray?"

I'm going to answer this as the me I used to be. So with that hat on, I have always seen xmas as a time for good food, good drink, good company - ok, family - good telly (relative to the rest of the year) and of course the pressies. Not so much the receiving, per se, more the warmth of seeing someone's face light up when they open the gifts I've chosen carefully for them and waited for them to see.

Gods and magic wizards need not apply.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Always found prayer to be such a boring thing even as a christian. I used to just talk to god really quickly in my head as I think of things. I don't really sit down, close my eyes, "in jesus's name" and all that stuff. It just makes so little logical sense that god can only read your mind when you say Amen. What?

As for christmas, not my thing. But I do love the decorations and watching christmas movies, it just makes me happy. Oh and shopping makes me happy too.

I enjoy the company of the family, having a good meal and talk together and the shine on the children's eyes when they get their presents. Most of my family is catholic, but no prayers are done in the gatherings.

I celebrate Christmas in a "cultural" sense without all of the religion added. Generally everyone is happier and I love hooking up LEDs everywhere!

I love Christmas! I'm a Christmas crazy lady. I spend December in the kitchen baking and cooking. You can taste the love in my food. I love the tree, the scents, bakeries, candles, hot cocoa, and even coffee tastes better. I enjoy the gift exchange with the kids. Fun!

Christmas wasn't even Christmas to begin with. It wasn't about Jesus Christ anyway. To me Christmas is about friends and family.
